Electrostatic charging of leather - Antistatic spray for leather

Normally leather does not generate any static charges. Leather furniture and vehicle leather become dusty over time, but electrostatic charging is rarely the reason.

In the few cases where these phenomena occur, leather is heavily pigmented. The top colouration then acts as an insulator and reduces the conductivity. It can get charged due to friction but very rarely.

In such cases, it is recommended to use commercially available antistatic sprays, which are also suitable for fabric. Always test the products in a hidden area. Apply and rub strongly with a cloth to check if there is any colour separation.
