Trains with leather seats

The railway companies also equip some trains with leather covers. In 2022, the German Bahn decided to switch from leather to fabrics in first class, which will probably lead to more cleaning effort because fabrics have to be cleaned much more laboriously than wipeable pigmented leather.

Like car leather, aircraft leather and leather in the public sector, leather in trains is subject to special quality requirements, in particular fire safety.
