Vermin damage on leather
The cleanliness of a leather store or leather goods store is prerequisite to avoid damage caused by bugs in leather. Mice and rats sometimes nibble the leather. There are also insect larvae which eat through leather and little holes remain.
Worm damage in leather
By worms caused damage. The worms eat through the leather and leave small holes in the leather surface.
In particular vegetable tanned leather is prone to the leather worm.

Damage caused by rodents
In particular, mice like to nest in the winter in old-timers. The leather is usually damaged. Often, the damage is so great that the leather has to be changed by a saddler. Too bad, if the leather had a nice patina.
After mice have wintered in the car: defective steering wheel and holes in the perforated car leather.
