Fine leather is an unprotected generic name for particularly light and supple leather from calfskin, goatskin and soft hides of exotic leather. Fine leather can be porous, but can also be pigmented. Usually smooth leather is referred to as fine leather, but nubuck and suede can also be called fine leather.

The term "fine leather" is used to describe high-quality book covers, bags, wallets and various other small leather objects.
