Chemie ist in allem enthalten, was wir essen, womit wir in Kontakt geraden oder riechen. Eine unsachgemäße Handhabung von Chemikalien kann in jedem Bereich gefährlich sein. Chemikalien sind komplex. Gewöhnliches Speisesalz, das wir in unserer Nahrung verwenden, braucht der Körper, aber reizt in Wunden und Augen und überdosiert schadet es bei der Nahrungsaufnahme der Gesundheit. Speisesalz kann unser Trinkwasser zerstören.
