Top grain leather is leather, where the grain side of the leather has not yet been completely removed. These includes all types of smooth leather including embossed leather, corrected Grain. Nubuck, where the top grain is sanded and split leather is not top grain leather.

Nubuck has a sanded surface on the grain side. - Coated split leather. - Both types of leather are not top grain leather.
