The history of the production of leather suitcases is closely related to the history of the automobile and the aviation. With the growing mobility of wider sections of the population since the beginning of the 20th century there was an increasing need for lighter luggage to carry yourself. Before, only rich people could afford traveling. Leather chests were used for luggage and the house staff carried the heavy chests.
