Since the keeping of donkeys in China has reduced, the skin of donkeys is smuggled. In 2015 1,200 hides of donkeys from Karachi in Pakistan were seized in Hong Kong. Exports were banned because donkeys were illegally slaughtered or poisoned and the skins and the meat were offered with false declarations.
